The Gilmore Collection announced Tuesday that they will be partnering with Live Nation's House of Blues Entertainment division as their entertainment partner for the "Venue Tower" project in downtown Grand Rapids.

The music venue part of the tower will be known as 20 Monroe Live.

House of Blues Entertainment operates about 60 venues nationwide, including Fillmore and House of Blues locations.

Greg Gilmore, CEO of the Gilmore Collection, expects the construction of the project to be finished in 90 days.

The music venue will open early 2017, and the initial concert lineup will be announced this fall.

The capacity of the new venue will range from 1,200 to 2,580 depending on the setup for the show.

20 Monroe Live will be attached to the new beer garden outside of The B.O.B.

House of Blues Entertainment and The Gilmore collection hope to host more than 150 shows a year in the new venue.

“The new venue will feature the best sound system of any club its size, unparalleled sight lines and superb food and beverage, making it one of the most artist and fan-friendly venues in the United States,” said Ron Benson, the president, House of Blues Entertainment. “It will be a great experience that rivals the best concert halls anywhere in the country.”
