The B.O.B. Will Reopen in September
After six months, the B.O.B. is back!
The Big Old Building, also known as The B.O.B., closed its doors back in December of 2021. In fact, the longtime downtown hotspot closed a week earlier than they previously planned. But, the Gilmore Collection announced Tuesday that The B.O.B. will re-open in downtown Grand Rapids in September of this year.
According to the website, "live entertainment will return with stand-up comedy at Dr. Grins Comedy Club and live music at Bobarino's and HOME."
The venue will have the same overall feelings with a few upgrades and features.
Two floors of the B.O.B. will be solely dedicated to special events and private dining experiences. This new part of the building will be where Eve and L3vel were when it was open previously.
The brewery will also be reopening as well. It will be expanding with a beer garden and a new space on the first floor.
The Gilmore Collection also states that the reimagined venue will be cashless at its reopening. The exact details of how the entire building will operate have not been released as of now.
Also, the B.O.B. will be hiring all new staff, including servers, bartenders, and management. If you are interested in working at the legendary venue, this is your opportunity! You can apply here.
In a previous article, we teased that there was a possibility of the B.O.B. returning since the sale of 20 Monroe Live had finally closed.
In 2021, The Gilmore Collection put The B.O.B. and its other property 20 Monroe Live up for sale. Shortly after, the company announced that both venues would be closed.
This news caused a frenzy for all Grand Rapids residents who have fallen in love with both of the venues over the years.
