Taylor Momsen Reveals Final Moments With Chris Cornell on Call Her Daddy
Taylor Momsen, the lead singer and guitarist of rock band The Pretty Reckless, has been busy. The band has recently notched its 8th #1 hit on the Rock charts with "For I Am Death", and last night, Taylor appeared on stage along with Mike McCready to perform "Rusty Cage" during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
She was on stage last night to honor Soundgarden's induction into the Hall of Fame, which also served as a tribute to the late Chris Cornell.

Her performance, alongside the remaining members of Soundgarden, was strong and a fitting tribute to a band that has helped shape Rock.

A few days before the Hall of Fame performance, Taylor opened up about Chris Cornell's passing on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she went into detail on how she found out about Cornell's passing following her final tour stop in Detroit.
"It was the last night of the tour in Detroit. We all said goodbye, got on our tour buses, and went to bed. I was woken up really early with the news...that someone I just spoke to and hugged a couple hours ago was no longer here, I couldn't process it."

Taylor was one of the last people to see Cornell alive when the band was capping off a 2017 spring tour. The Pretty Reckless served as the opening act. May 17th, and the Detroit show was the final night on tour with Soundgarden.
She has previously detailed this final conversation, per Loudwire:
"[Chris] tended to leave right after the show, so I was kind of waiting by the back door knowing that it was the last night of tour, and I wanted to thank him for everything and say whatever I was gonna say," she recalled. "And I did, I caught him as he was walking out. We had a nice little discussion, I gave him a big hug, a 'Let's do it again sometime,' and we continued on with the night."
Soundgarden was joined by Salt-N-Pepa, the White Stripes, Outkast, and Warren Zevon as the inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year.
