One Dead After Buckcherry Tour Bus Involved in Crash

Buckcherry is currently touring in support of its new album, Roar Like Thunder. While traveling to its next tour stop Friday, its tour bus was involved in a fatal crash.

Buckcherry broke into the scene in 1999 with its self-titled debut album, featuring the hit “Lit Up.” The song reached No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and remains a staple on rock radio 27 years later.

Buckcherry was formed in 1995 by singer Josh Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson. After releasing two albums, the band called it quits in 2002. Todd and Nelson reunited Buckcherry with a new lineup in 2005, releasing the album 15 in 2006. The record went double platinum and produced hits including “Crazy Bitch,” “Everything,” and “Sorry,” helping make Buckcherry one of the most-played bands on rock radio in the mid to late 2000s.

Since the release of 15, vocalist Josh Todd has remained the only consistent member of the band. Guitarist Stevie D. has remained in the band since the 15 album. The duo recently released the group’s 11th studio album, Roar Like Thunder.

While traveling to the next stop on the tour, the band’s bus encountered a traffic accident ahead that left one person dead.

Crash in Front of Buckcherry Tour Bus Claims One Life

As Buckcherry traveled through South Carolina toward their next tour stop in Florida, the band’s bus was involved in a crash around 2 a.m. Friday. According to WYFF News 4, the incident was a multi-vehicle collision on I-26 in Spartanburg County. Authorities reported that a person involved in the initial crash exited their vehicle and was subsequently struck by another vehicle and died at the scene.

Buckcherry shared an update on Facebook, reassuring fans that all members of the band and their touring crew were safe and unharmed following the incident.

The band is continuing its scheduled dates in Florida before returning to Kalamazoo, Michigan, to perform at the Michigan Mac & Cheese Fest on August 29.
