Surfing Robot Tracking Great White Sharks Off California Coast
While the threat of robots descending upon our civilization and harvesting our organs for fuel is extremely terrifying... these mechanical monstrosities can also serve very useful purposes. So, you take the good with the bad. This particular robot is a friendly.
Professor Barbara Block from Stanford University has utilized a Silicon Valley developed surfing robot to follow and track animals off of the California Coast... great white sharks in particular. Now, thanks to the wonderful world of smartphones... there is an actual app that will let you follow the sharks Block's program have followed. The app is called Shark Net.
This is great news considering the simple fact that when someone asks you if you have a shark in your pocket... you can reply F*** YES IT IS!
