Where Is Spirit Halloween Popping Up This Fall Around West Michigan? (2025)

Before the air even carried a slight chill that signaled summer was ending, the lights in every empty storefront across the nation came to life as Spirit Halloween began its three months of brick-and-mortar retail.

The premier destination for everything spooky, from off-brand costumes with ambiguous enough names to avoid getting sued into oblivion to spooky animatronics and horror movie merchandise.

As exciting as it is for these shops to open, where they'll open each year can be a bit of a mystery. That's why I've highlighted all the locations around West Michigan, so you know which former businesses now serve as temporary homes for the spookiest stores in town.

Spirit Halloween

Since it opened in 1983, Spirit Halloween has grown to over 1,500 seasonal locations nationwide, making it the largest Halloween retailer in the US (though I'm not sure there is much competition). Last year, the company had six locations around West Michigan.

This year, there is a new location at Centerpointe Mall on 28th Street, and some locations have moved from their 2024 buildings, notably into Party City and Joann's Fabrics buildings that closed this year.

Keep your eyes peeled for the big orange banners. After the Halloween season, if West Michigan is lucky, perhaps these Spirit Halloween stores will turn into Spirit Christmas stores.
