You don't need me to tell you that it's been over two years since the pandemic began. While, many places have relaxed their mask rules over the last six months, however one of the remaining places that required them until recently were nearly all modes of public transportation.

However, after a federal court ruling in Florida on Monday, it's now official that the TSA and other public transportation companies are no longer required to enforce the federal mask mandate.

And due to this change, several bus lines in West Michigan are no longer requiring that riders wear masks. However, they are still recommended for those who are not vaccinated, but there will be no enforced mandate.

Grand Rapids

According to a statement, riders of the Rapid bus line won't have to wear masks.

Any Rapid customers that choose to or need to wear a mask are encouraged to do so. We ask that all customers to continue to exercise caution and be considerate of fellow riders and Rapid Bus Operators.

they are also asking people to be patient as the change is implemented, because it make time for people to find out about the new rules.

Grand Haven

Riders on the Grand Haven Harbor Transport are no longer required to wear masks, however according to a statement they released, they still recommend masks for riders.

Muskegon

Muskegon bus lines are also no longer asking for masks to be worn, and they appreciate everyone's patience with the change in orders.

So, while some places you may still see asking for you to wear a mask, your local commute there will now be allowed to be mask free.
