This has been one huge Pop Evil party weekend! First, Friday morning, Mayor Hartwell declared it Pop Evil Day for Grand Rapids, and it was also declared in Muskegon! The album came out at 10am, and then an amazing show happened at the Intersection with Aranda, and Red Sun Rising.

But that's not the end of the Pop Evil festivities.

On Sunday, August 23rd, Pop Evil appeared at FYE Rivertown, to perform a special 'acoustic storyteller' set for a few hundred people, and then sign autographs for everyone who bought the new album 'Up'!

The store was pretty packed, and it's a big store. Producer Steve and I got to get on stage and introduce the local heroes for their acoustic show, and that was awesome. Sorry about the jokes, we can't help ourselves.

They played a few songs, kicking off with '100 in a 55', 'Torn to Pieces', and of course also played 'Footsteps', the current single. They also talked a bit about another new song, and how Matt's been playing the riffs for it for a few years, and how the song title came about.

I'll give you a hint...it was raining in Seattle when they were coming up with a name for it. Check out the story and the song in the video above.

We hope you came and enjoyed Pop Evil weekend with GRD and the band, it was a lot of fun, and we can't wait for it to happen again!
