New Downtown GR Wine and Jazz Bar Opens Next Week
A new wine and jazz club downtown Grand Rapids has set a grand opening date! GRNoir will open to the public Monday, Feb. 1, the day that the pause on indoor dining ends throughout the state.
Owners Shatawn and Nadia Brigham had planned to open GRNoir at 35 S. Division Ave. early last year... but then, of course, the pandemic happened. Since December, they've been offering curbside pickup. They've also begun shipping wine to buyers around the state.
According to a release:
GRNoir’s goal is to create fun and memorable experiences through wine and food, jazz and conversation. It aspires to become a landmark nightspot in downtown Grand Rapids where locals and tourists can discover new wines, taste small plates and grow in appreciation of Black culture through the prism of jazz. Sommelier Shatawn Brigham will guide guests as they learn more about wine, jazz and the people and places who gave birth to them.
GRNoir will feature local and regional jazz artists in live performances. You'll be able to hear live music at Monday's grand opening and throughout the rest of the week.
Grab a bite while you're there too! GRNoir offers a variety of small plates specially selected to pair well with wine. For those who aren't able to dine in, you can still order wine and food for curbside pickup by calling (616) 719-1191.
Initially, GRNoir will be open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and will stay open later once statewide restrictions are lifted.

Nadia said in a release,
“We want GRNoir to be a place for joy, a space to laugh and love, to share stories and meet friends old and new. As avid fans of wine and jazz, we’re eager to welcome folks of all backgrounds and experience levels so they can celebrate the rich histories and cultures of wine and jazz and Black America's contributions to these spaces.”
Keep up with GRNoir on their Facebook page and website.
