Of course you can take a romantic getaway any time of year, but with Valentine's Day approaching, it might be more on your mind.

Thrillist, a website dedicated to food, drink, travel and entertainment is on the case! They asked their smartest and swooniest travel writers and editors to play travel agent Cupid and track down the most romantic escape in every state.

They looked for place with "dreamy small towns, lakeside villages, gobsmacking natural vistas, luxe hotel spas, and cozy cabins" -- I mean, does that sound like Michigan or what?

So what is Thrillist's pick for the most romantic weekend getaway in Michigan?

I'll give you a hint, it's often ranked among the best wine regions in America...

It's Old Mission Peninsula! Just north of Traverse City, Old Mission Peninsula is a narrow finger of land extending into the center of Grand Traverse Bay.

In addition to great wine, you'll find awesome restaurants, scenic hikes and beaches, antique shops, and cozy inns.

I got married in Traverse City in 2017, and for our honeymoon we spent a lot of time on Old Mission Peninsula.

Have been back many times and can100% vouch for it being a very romantic spot in Michigan!
