The Humongous Fungus Fest will take place July 31–August 1 in Crystal Falls, celebrating the world’s largest honey mushroom discovered in the late 1980s. The massive fungus spans roughly 90 acres and is estimated to weigh around 440 tons.
One of the festival’s signature attractions is the Humongous Pizza, a 10-by-10-foot mushroom pizza.
The Heikinpäivä Festival is held each year in downtown Hancock in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Celebrating Finnish American heritage, it takes place in late January and features a parade of mythical forest creatures, a market, snow sculptures, and a wife-carrying contest.
The city of Fremont, home to the Gerber Products Company, hosts the National Baby Food Festival each year during the third full week of July.
The event features a baby crawl, adult baby food eating contest, a baby photo contest, carnival rides, live music, and a large parade.
The Festival of Oddities will take place September 5–6, 2026, in downtown Charlotte. This historic event features the “Macabre Marketplace,” with more than 100 vendors showcasing the peculiar and unusual.
Highlights include oddity museums, meet-and-greets with horror authors, and the “Creature Cavern,” where attendees can even adopt unusual pets.

The town of Borculo, in Ottawa County, hosts an annual "Dandelion Festival" on May 1-2, 2026. May 1 features a night of fireworks to kick off the event that offers free ice cream and popcorn.

The festival features a parade, carnival, 5K race, Dandeline Dancing, scavenger hunt, and a longest dandelion contest. If you’re looking for an alternative to Holland’s Tulip Festival, the Dandelion Festival is worth a visit.
