Michigan Man Pumping Gas Lights Spider on Fire, Then Fire Breaks Out
No one likes spiders but using a lighter to kill one while pumping gas is not a good idea and unfortunately, a Michigan man has found out the hard way.
How Not to Kill a Spider
Nobody likes a spider in their car, on their car, or on their person. Especially when Michigan has a few venomous spiders like the black widow and the brown recluse.
Let's face it, some people are more afraid of spiders than others and will do absolutely anything to kill one.
A lighter can be effective in killing a spider but is not recommended because fire can spread.
Using a lighter to kill a spider when pumping gas is totally insane so DO NOT DO THIS! Unfortunately, a Michigan man didn't get the memo of no smoking near gas pumps or the common sense of not lighting a spider on fire while highly flammable gas fumes are in the air.
Michigan Man Burns Spider and Causes Massive Fire at Gas Station
No, the man in Detroit wasn't smoking while pumping gas but did notice a spider near his gas tank while he was filling his tank and thought he would light it on fire.
Do you think this guy "S$%!" his pants? Good thing the gas station attendant didn't. She saw what was going on and quickly shut off the gas pumps and called the fire department.
Even though this guy was a dufus for lighting the spider on fire while pumping gas in the first place, he did at least grab the fire extinguisher after he moved his vehicle and put the fire out before the fire department showed up. At least no one was hurt but the gas pump and the man's pride.
According to FOX 2 Detroit, the gas station employees had some fun making fun of the guy adding voiceovers to the video. You can see the whole thing by clicking the video above.
