An original member of Nine Inch Nails has been hired at the University of Michigan as a professor in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance department.
Original Nine Inch Nails Drummer
I have been lucky enough to see Chriss Vrenna play with Nine Inch Nails a couple of times, and I saw him once fill in on drums for Ginger Fish in Marilyn Manson but saw him again as Manson's keyboard player. Vrenna is a great drummer a great drum programmer and a keyboard player.
Vrenna is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Nine Inch Nails from 1988 until 1996. He is also a producer, engineer, remixer, programmer, and founder of the electronic band Tweaker.
Vrenna played drums for NIN, Marilyn Manson, Stabbing Westward, KMFDM, Gnarls Barkley, Guns N Roses, and more. As a producer, recording engineer, and programmer he has worked with The Smashing Pumpkins, Mudvayne, Lord of Acid, Megadeth, Rammstein, Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Green Day, Bush, Live, P.O.D., Weezer, and more. As you can see, Vrenna has some skills.

University of Michigan Hire Former Nine Inch Nails Drummer as a Professor
Chris Vrenna is the newest member of the Department of Performing Arts Technology department of the University of Michigan. Vrenna is no stranger to U of M since his father is a Michigan alumnus.
According to U of M's Music, Theatre & Dance website, teaching in Ann Arbor is not his first university rodeo. Vrenna has previously been on the faculty of Southern Utah University, Athens State University, Calhoun College, the University of Alabama, and the Madison Media Institute. Vrenna brings a ton of real-life experience to Michigan and will be focusing on new courses in sound design for film and video games.
If Vrenna wants to start a band at some point while moving to Michigan, I'll play guitar. Lol.
