Have You Heard of the New Michigan Martini?
If you love drinking a good martini, there is a new one called the Michigan martini which is unlike any martini you have had before.
What is a Martini?
I have to admit, I have never had a martini before because it always seemed like an old person's drink.
The martini was made famous in the 1962 James Bond film Dr. No when he said the famous line when he asked for his vodka martini "shaken and not stirred." If you read the books the Bond character said the phrase in 1956 in the book "Diamonds Are Forever."
Martinis are made in a variety of different ways these days but the classic is made from gin and vermouth, garnished with an olive or lemon twist. The classic martini is one of the most popular mixed drinks in the world.

Have You Heard of a Michigan Martini?
A Michigan martini is different than any other you have ever tried. The Michigan martini has no gin, vermouth, vodka, or other liquor in the recipe. There are no olives or lemon twists either.
The Michigan martini is Pabst Blue Ribbon poured into a mason jar with a slice of pickle in the drink. Social media had a lot to say about the Michigan martini.
Dan Heiges said it best on this thread, "You can't hide class." That made me laugh for sure. Stephanie McKown put it best when she said, "Never have I ever seen this. I don't know how to feel about this...very intrigued but also mildly horrified."
There are a lot of mixed emotions regarding the Michigan martini on this Facebook thread. There are hundreds of comments on this and I only scratched the surface but if you want to take a deeper dive or leave a comment click here.
