
Legendary Michigan Comedian Has Stroke And Is Learning To Walk Again
A legendary comedian who is from Benton Harbor, Michigan, had a near-death experience two years ago and is now learning to walk again.

Debilitating Stroke
A stroke happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is suddenly interrupted or when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, spilling blood into the spaces surrounding brain cells. Even though a stroke is a problem that happens in the brain it can affect the entire body where one side of the body experiences paralysis.
Comedic Legend From Benton Harbor Has Stroke
David Adkins also known as "Sinbad" was born November 10, 1956, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Sinbad went on to college at the University of Denver and then later served in the United States Air Force where he was later discharged. He then got his stand-up break on the TV show Star Search and the rest is history.
After an illustrious career of stand-up and acting on television and the big screen, in October 2020 at the age of 64, Sinbad suffered from a stroke.
It has been a long 2 years of recovery with a long road ahead for Sinbad.
Sinbad spent several months in therapy before returning home in July 2021. According to WZZM Sinbad said, "I am not done. I will not stop fighting until I can walk across the stage again."

Sinbad only had a 30% chance of recovery but has so far beaten the odds. He has a ways to go but we wish him the very best on his journey to return to the stage.
