Traditionally, when someone is given a police escort, it's either an emergency or someone is in trouble. Rarely is an escort given to someone or something without a good reason. That's why when you see police escorting an entire family of ducks down the halls of the 62-B District Court, you feel pretty inclined to get out of the way.

Getting Her Ducks In A Row

You know spring is in the air when you have to wait for a momma duck and her many ducklings to cross the street. However, it is not often that the place where the ducks are waddling is a courthouse. Without a doubt, one of the most unique VIPs to grace the halls of the 62-B District Court, this mother duck and her duckling waddled through the walls of the court like they ran the place.

What's more surprising is that this isn't the first or second time the courthouse has dealt with this. As the City of Kentwood points out in a post on Facebook, this is actually the third year in a row a duck has chosen the courtyard in the District Court as its nesting place.

Now that the ducklings have grown big enough to walk, the team worked together to guide the duck family through the halls of the court and out the front door to be somewhere they can spread their wings. Honestly, if this is what my taxpayer dollars are going towards, I'm not even slightly mad.
