Kalamazoo Band Needs Your Help After All Their Gear Was Stolen
Let me put you in the shoes of Saturdays At Your Place, an emo band from Kalamazoo and one of the rising stars in Midwest Emo. You're on tour in Ohio (of course this happened in Ohio) and wake up to a short but gut-punching text:
Yo, y'all's trailer isn't outside.
You wake up to learn all your gear (equipment, amps, pedal boards, speaker cabinets, drums, merch, vinyl, etc.) has been stolen right off the back of your van. Everything you need to do your job is gone overnight.
The group, consisting of Mitch Gulish, Esden Stafne, and Gabe Wood, was able to keep touring by the grace of their tourmates letting them use their gear, but that tour is over now and they have their first headlining tour starting. Which requires gear.
They managed to recover their guitars from a nearby Guitar Center. Police arrested the guy who sold the guitars and managed to recover the trailer with most of their merchandise in it, but all the gear was never recovered. Now, they're asking for community assistance.
GoFundMe
Stafne created a GoFundMe with a goal of $15,000 to "almost" cover the costs of all the gear that wasn't recovered. The community has quickly come to their aid. Within six hours of being posted, the GoFundMe has already surpassed $10,000 in a very short time.

2024's Success
2024 has been a big year for Saturdays. According to songstats.com, in August 2023, the band was averaging ~25,000 listeners on Spotify. Now, they're on their way to 200,000 listeners, wrapped up their first overseas tour, and will start their first headlining tour in October.
To have a Michigan band experiencing growth like this is a cool thing to witness. If you want to donate to the GoFundMe, you can do so by clicking here. Or, check them out on Bandcamp.
