A new Netflix docuseries puts the spotlight on a Michigan family's battle over their daughter with an alleged TikTok cult led by Robert Shinn.

'Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult' is a three-part docuseries that debuted last week on Netflix. The series takes an in-depth look at the Wilking family's quest to find out what has happened to their daughter Miranda.

What is 7M?

7M is a management company and a private, invite-only church led by Pastor Robert Shinn. According to the Guardian, many of the dancers who've joined 7M have family members who believe they've joined a cult. In the Netflix documentary, testimonials given by former members suggest that belief as well.

However, Robert Shinn, the pastor of the Shekinah Church and 7M founder simply calls it a talent management company.

Who is Miranda Wilking?

The series explores a family from Warren, Michigan and their involvement with the alleged cult, spotlighting sisters Miranda and Melanie who had aspirations of becoming well-known dancers. The pair built a network of millions of followers on TikTok with their viral dance videos before Miranda moved to Los Angeles and became estranged from her family.

Another Metro Detroit native, Kylie Douglas from Novi is highlighted in the streaming service's docuseries, according to Detroit's WDIV. Douglas was eventually able to break away from the cult, sharing some of her experiences while in the throes of the cult.

'Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult' debuted on Netflix in May. You can watch the trailer for the series here.
