A West Side bar won't be serving alcohol this weekend.

MLive Media Group/ The Grand Rapids Press reports that the liquor license at Louie's Bar & Rocket Lounge BBQ on Bridge Street has been suspended by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission July 10, 11, and 12.

A Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs spokesperson said the suspension is the result of a history of violations at Louie's.

Since receiving its liquor license in 2007, the bar has been cited for 13 violations of state liquor code.

Violations include selling after hours, failing to renew the liquor license, bouncing checks to the state liquor warehouse, and failing to prove employees completed an ordered alcohol training program.

The suspension stems from an October 2014 incident in which the bar was cited for serving a visibly intoxicated person.

MLive reports that currently Louie's front window is covered in plywood and the phone number is out of service; nearby businesses say the bar was recently open.
