We’ve rounded up six dog parks in and around Grand Rapids where your four-legged friend can play safely in fenced areas. From urban spots like the Downtown Grand Rapids Dog Park to larger spaces like Grand Ravines in Jenison, there’s something for every size and energy level.

Many of these parks offer separate sections for large and small dogs, water stations, shaded spots, and seating areas so you can relax while your dog burns off energy.

And the options are only growing! While the City of Grand Rapids currently operates just two dog parks, officials have been seeking public input on where to add more. A new dog park is planned for Mackay-Jaycees Park in southeast Grand Rapids within the next two years, and according to Wood TV, another could open within five years.

Kent County Parks is also planning a 10-acre dog park at Wahlfield Park, featuring a dog-friendly beach, washing station, four-season restrooms, and expanded parking.
