Remember when you were a kid and you would go to the park and play?

Did you always have your parents with you? Probably not.

Like most kids, you probably left the house in the morning, hopped on your bike and played with your friends all day.

A Port St. Lucie, Fla., mother was arrested Saturday for letting her 7-year-old kid do just that, WPTV 5 reported.

On Saturday afternoon, Nicole Gainey gave her 7-year-old son, Dominic, permission to go play at the local park that is about a 10-minute walk from their home.

After being spotted by someone at a nearby municipal pool and questioned about where his mom was while on his way, Dominic got scared and ran to the park.

The police were called. When they arrived, they also asked Dominic where his mother was.
They took him back home and arrested his mother, charging her with criminal neglect.

Should she have been arrested and charged with neglect?
