Elderly Couple Goes To The Doctor, Then Spends 5 Days To Get Back Home

An elderly couple near Knoxville, Tennessee went to a doctor's appointment last week, got lost on their way home, and kept driving for five days! 

Tony and Delores Amaral, both in their mid-80's, left Sevierville in their gold PT Cruiser to go to Knoxville to get to their medical center!

They first started driving in Chattanooga, overshot their original destination Knoxville, ended up going north winding up in Middelsboro Kentucky. They then realized they should probably go south, so they drove to Atlanta!

This whole ordeal lasted five days while their daughter and police searched for them.

Finally, the couple was found after tracking bank information from their stops and working with police.

Their daughter says they haven't been diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia, but is spreading the word about memory loss.

In the end, the Amarals made it home and probably shouldn't drive anywhere again. Shall we recommend those backpack leashes?
