Downtown GR Hotel Offering Outdoor Dining in Heated Domes
There's a new option for outdoor dining overlooking the Grand River downtown Grand Rapids!
According to Grand Rapids Business Journal, the JW Marriott Hotel is now offering "Domes on the Dek". The domes come come equipped with an electric heater and portable Bluetooth speakers to “enhance the experience and keep guests warm", the JW Marriot says. They also have a Kallpod which will allow you to contact your server if you are in need of assistance without having to leave the dome.
While indoor dining resumes at 25% capacity in Michigan on Monday, some guests may still prefer to eat outside. Plus, this just looks like a really cool experience!
The domes are available for reservations 5-10p.m. daily and on Saturday and Sunday's for brunch 10a.m.-2p.m.
Reservations are for up to 6 people, for two hours maximum. The JW says a deep cleaning is done between each reservation.
Food will come from the JW's "Margaux on the Dek" menu -- Margaux is a classic French bistro on the hotel's ground floor.
The drink menu includes hand-crafted cocktails like the Hibiscus Spritzer for $12 and Grapefruit Old Fashioned for $14. They also offer beer and wine and a wide selection of bourbon, rye, and scotch. Appetizers range in price from $7 to $18 and include steak tartar, shrimp cocktail, flatbreads, and oysters. For the main course, items include roasted chicken, walleye, and New York strip ranging in price from $26 to $49.
According to GRBJ, the JW is also offering the below special packages and add-ons:
- Baby It’s Cold Outside: A bottle of champagne, seafood tower, two entrées and one bottle of wine for a special date night
- The Family Experience: Interactive cookie decorating kits, a hot chocolate bar and a meal served family style
