When are City of Grand Rapids Offices Closed During the Holidays?
Most City of Grand Rapids offices are closed Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, for the Christmas holiday. They also are closed Monday, Jan. 2 for New Year’s Day. City offices are open for business December 27, 28, 29 and 30.
Many City services can be accessed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year here.
When Are Grand Rapids Public Libraries Closed During the Holidays?
All Grand Rapids Public Library (GRPL) locations are closed Saturday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Dec. 26, and are closed Saturday, Dec. 31 and Sunday, Jan. 1. GRPL’s Madison Square, Ottawa Hills, Van Belkum, and West Side Branch locations are closed Friday, Dec. 23.
Will Grand Rapids Garbage and Recycling be Delayed During the Holidays?
There are no refuse and recycling curbside collection delays during the 2022 holiday season. Curbside pick-ups will occur on their regular schedule.
The City’s yard waste drop-off site at 2001 Butterworth St. SW will have the following holiday hours:
- Friday December 23 - 7:30 to 12:30 pm
- Monday December 26 - CLOSED
- Friday December 30 7:30 to 12:30 pm
- Monday January 2 - CLOSED
All other days would follow the regular hours.
When is the United States Postal Service Closed During the Holidays?
This year, Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on Sundays, when Post Office locations are normally closed. Post Offices will also be closed on the Mondays after Christmas and New Year’s Day. Regular Post Office hours and mail delivery will resume on the Tuesday after each holiday.
Are Kent County Government Offices Closed During the Holidays?
Kent County offices will be closed on Friday, December 23 Monday, December 26 for the Christmas holiday.
County offices will reopen on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 for the remainder of the week.
