The City is seeking seasonal maintenance laborers to help create safe, welcoming and vibrant park spaces for the community to enjoy.

Seasonal maintenance laborers work under the guidance of a designated supervisor to oversee the daily maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of park land, amenities, and facilities.
Requirements for the position include:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • May be scheduled to work weekend days (depending on site assignment)

Pay is $15 per hour.

City of Grand Rapids Hiring Lifeguards

The City of Grand Rapids also recently announced it is hiring 75 lifeguards to work at the three City Pools ahead of the summer season.

The position is open to those 15 and older, and an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is required.

The course normally costs $275, but the City of Grand Rapids will waive the fee for anyone who works at a city pool this summer. An aquatics manager will work with applicants to schedule a certification course if needed.
