There are a lot of Christmas related events this weekend along with some comedy and music. We also have a few outdoor activities from skating to fat tire biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. There is The Nutcracker, The Polar Express, Lights Out and Basketball. We also have a Santa Parade and a Santa Train!

Some activities include the kids, while others are more for the adults.

    Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink is a cherished winter activity in Grand Rapids. All open skate hours are weather-dependent. Every Saturday from 10 am to 12:00 Noon it will be Maranda's Free Skate. Kids 17 and under can skate for free thanks to Fifth Third Bank! Plus, Milk Means More and Biggby will provide free hot cocoa!

He has performed at many of the major comedy festivals such as the Halifax Comedy Festival and Boston Comedy Festival.

    The golf season may be over, but the fun doesn’t stop! Winter Fun at Indian Trails is set to begin on Saturday, December 14th. Looking for things to do in the winter in Grand Rapids? Activities include fat tire biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing! They will also have hot chocolate and coffee, cold beer, and a warm fire in the clubhouse.

    Help the Wyoming-Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce Welcome Santa! The parade begins at 10 am at 34th Street and S. Division and will then head south. Bring your camera to Brann's Sizzlin' Steaks & Sports Grille at 4132 S. Division (on the parade route) and take pictures of the kids with Santa immediately after the parade!

    Ride with the Fun GuyY! Everyone loves Santa and Santa loves children. Each of their vintage passenger cars has a special seat reserved just for the Big Guy and his friends. Elves will escort the children to sit with Santa. All children get a present, even the shy ones! The story-telling Princess will read Christmas-themed books to the children in each of the decorated railcars. All of the cars are comfortably heated and each has a restroom on board. The round-trip from Coopersville to Marne takes 90 minutes.

    You’ll start your adventure-filled day with a reading of the Chris Van Allsburg holiday classic, “The Polar Express”. Then you’ll continue the fantastic fun watching the 2004 film adaptation of the book. To make the day even more special -- show up in your pajamas and indulge in a hot cocoa bar at concessions. Guests who come dressed in pajamas will be entered into a “Best Pajama” contest for their chance to win a prize package including a copy of “The Polar Express” book signed by Chris Van Allsburg. Special Guest Storyteller: Jordan Carson from WOOD TV8 eightWest.
