Free Curling Has Come to Downtown Grand Rapids
There are even more winter activities downtown Grand Rapids! Curling has arrived!
Ice skating at Rosa Parks Circle is a winter tradition downtown Grand Rapids.
The rink at 135 Monroe Center St. NW is now open daily, weather permitting, through February 25. Hours vary at the ice rink, but it is generally open weekdays 11a.m. to 8:30p.m., and weekends 10a.m. to 9p.m. You can reserve a spot online or walk up. Find out more here.
Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. announced on Dec. 7 that curling is now open at Rosa Parks Circle! The hours are the same as the ice rink.
Cost is free, but your ID is required to use the equipment.
All you need to do is walk up to the shipping container, give them your ID, and curl away!
There are no reservations for curling downtown Grand Rapids, it is first come, first serve.
There is also curling at Grand Rapids' new Christmas market, Christkindl Markt at the Downtown Market. Cost is $100 for a one hour reservation.
Want more outdoor winter fun? The Parks and Recreation department also plans to once again host snowshoeing, fat tire biking and other winter recreation at Indian Trails Golf Course, as well as free sled rentals at city parks through its GR Outside division when weather permits.
