Unofficial Star Wars/Mario Kart Mashup Looks Amazing [Video]

Unfortunately, this video is fan-made and probably won't become an actual game, but this Star-Wars-themed Mario Kart race is making fans everywhere wish it was real.

Created by Dark Pixel, "Star Kart" begins with Mario Kart players revving their engines on an altered version of Rainbow Road. But instead of normal vehicles, the Mario Kart characters idle in an X-Wing Fighter, the Slave I, and a TIE Interceptor, to name a few.

As the race begins, all characters immediately make the jump to lightspeed. Over the length of the course, the players journey through hyperspace, Tatooine, Hoth, and of course, the Death Star.

There are great tie-ins to both the Star Wars and Mario Kart franchises, which is what really makes this fan-made video stand out. You can watch it all in the video below.
