Talk about a look back in time. This photo of the original Toys "R" Us on 28th Street from 1979 sure jogged some memories from those who remember going there as a kid.

Remember the Toys 'R Us Theme Song?

Don't read any further into this article without watching the Toys "R" Us commercial above and see if you still remember the words to that legendary theme song. This song will definitely take you back to a happy place in time.

Of course, we cannot forget the Toys "R" Us mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe, and his family. When I saw these TV commercials, it took me back to when I was a kid 0- in awe that there was a store that only had toys for kids. Mind. Blown.

How is that for a gem of a photo memory of the original Toys "R" Us that was on 28th Street? That storefront and logo could get a kid's heart pumping when pulling into the parking lot, or just driving by begging your parents to pull in.

The Grand Rapids City Archives and Records Center made a post on Facebook that took many people from West Michigan down a joyous walk of memory lane.

David Miles pointed out the old Showbiz Pizza that would definitely go hand-in-hand with a visit to Toys "R" Us.

Kathy Dempsey said,

I felt like I won the Lotto as a kid having my Dad take me there as a kid to buy me a toy!

I really liked Gregory Mertz's post about the cars in the parking lot when he mentioned,

I like the two Oldsmobile Delta 88s side by side! Classic!

I was caught between remembering the old look of the store and all the old vehicles in the parking lot.

One of the things I noticed from this thread was that a number of people have pointed out that the 28th Street Toys "R" Us was haunted.
