It's been a long, long time since System of a Down have released an album … about seven-and-a-half years to be exact. Now that the band has been playing live shows again over the past couple of years, fans have been drooling for some new material, and according to drummer John Dolmayan, System of a Down "are going to make a new album at a certain point."
System of a Down fans have been patient in recent years, with the group spending a lot of time on hiatus pursuing other musical avenues. Though the band has reunited for a series of shows over the past two years, there has been no talk about future albums or dates … until now. System have revealed their first two performances of 2013, set to take place in August.

I can see how they have some things in common, seeing as they are both very successful musicians and they are both Canadian, but I also believe in deal breakers and for me, this is when Avril Lavigne became completely obnoxious
System of a Down announced their hiatus in 2006, eventually returning once again as a cohesive unit in late 2010. However, bassist Shavo Odadjian recently revealed that he never considered System of a Down to have been broken up, despite what many fans perceived about the band’s five-year halt. Furthermore, Shavo has gone even further to reassure fans, stating that he believes the band will “never break up.”

As expected from a teaser announcement last week, System of a Down have revealed a handful of dates for the summer. Deftones will provide support for the trek that kicks off in August.
Rumors are spreading around the web like crazy as The Deftones and System of a Down apparently have a special announcement coming this monday!

Soundwave Festival in Australia is one of those shows that I need to go to before I do. Huge headliners this year were System of a Down, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Limp Bizkit, Machinehead, Lamb of God, etc! What would make the show even better though, is watching Joey Jordison of Slipknot drum for System of a Down....oh.....wait....what?!?!
