PEOPLE DOING GOOD: Mom Saved Because Of 3-Year-Old’s Quick Thinking

Here’s a People Doing Good courtesy of WOODTV, It happened back on the 5th of July, in Muskegon, but we’re just now hearing about it.  It’s a story about 3 and a half-year-old Ezra, who ended up saving his mom’s life, while still following the rules.

According to WOODTV, Ezra’s mom was having a bad reaction to something that bit her, which she believes was a spider.  She thought she would wait out the pain and swelling and eventually it would go away, but that wasn’t the case, and she ended up passing out. That’s when 3 and a half-year-old Ezra remembered what his grandmother had taught him about calling 9-1-1.

Because Ezra and his mom live alone, grandma started last year, teaching the youngster the importance of not playing on the phone but how to use 9-1-1 in the case of emergency. Thankfully she taught him that because he called 9-1-1 and was able to help dispatchers send emergency personnel to find the house.

I love the part of the story when dispatchers asked if he could step outside, so police and paramedics could help find his house and he says, “no, because cars will be coming.” He obviously pays attention to the rules, which is adorable, and right on!

Casey, Ezra’s mom, told WOODTV that she didn’t know until she was in the hospital, just how much her son had helped save her life and said that she told him “thank you” a bunch of times and how proud she was of him.

I’m not a parent, BUT in the story, it talks about dispatchers asking, his mom’s real name, his address, house color, the color of mom’s car… all to help narrow the search.  Good reminder to make sure your kids also know that answer. I’m not sure my nephew at 3 ½ could tell us all that info.
