Who are all the members of your band, and what do they play?
Kala Chantelle - Lead Vox
Sean Silver - Guitar
Andrew the Lion - Bass
Cash Rock - Guitar
Nathan Machine Jean - Drums

When did the band get together, and how?
The journey leading to the Uncommon Road you see before you has been long and interesting. But lets start with the end of 2011 When we auditioned our amazing lead vocalist, Kala Chantelle. That's where it really started to come together. Joining Sean and Andrew shortly after Kala came Nathan (formerly of Rattle Candy) and Cash Rock (formerly of Dunk tank and Sevin). Many great people have played a role in bringing this together and we are so grateful for them all!

How would you describe your music to someone?
First of all it is heavy Female fronted rock. After that it could be described as both entertaining and energetic. Many of the songs are written with a challenge in the lyrics. We hold tight to melodic elements while still driving it home.

Who are some of the bands that influence your music?
Our influences are all over the place, from classic orchestral to post core and grunge... We realize that is an intensely wide variety, but it helps keep our music fresh. Some of us even do swing dancing!

To name some more timely relevant bands we should list: Flyleaf, Chevelle, Halestorm, Chili Peppers, The Classic Crime, Project 86, In this Moment... Ok this list might go on forever if we don't just call this good.

What other bands have your members been/are in?
Kala is a new comer to the road and she is right at home. The rest of us have been involved in other projects in the past. But now Uncommon Road is our primary and lifetime objective.

What other local bands would you recommend people check out?
The City of Grand Rapids is amazing! and it is full of some amazing musicians. We have had the opportunity to play with several great bands and would encourage you to check them all out... surf the web and facebook. Sargent Avenue, Deadwood Stone, EFF, Endless Warehouse, Romance for Ransom, East of Ransom, Coldville.... oh gee! to many

Where is your favorite place to play in Grand Rapids?
Sadly we have watched many of our favorites go under. We love to play the larger format places such as the Orbit Room or the Intersection. But we also love the small intimate (you have to rock out because you are all stuck together like sweat glue because its so small) kind of places. Although we can't fit our show in to most places that size anymore.
