This is not the kind of story that the Transportation Security Administration wants to be at the center of.

Justin Gray is a Washington, D.C.-based reporter for Atlanta's WSB-TV and eight sister stations through Cox Media Group.

He was flying to our nation's capital from Orlando International Airport. When asked for his ID by a TSA agent while going through security, the agent refused to recognize the ID and asked for Gray to show a passport instead. Since Gray was traveling within the U.S., he did not have his passport on him.

So why wouldn't the TSA agent recognize Gray's ID? Because it was a driver's license from the District of Columbia, and the agent didn't know what D.C. was.

So the people responsible for making sure we travel safely doesn't even know what D.C. is and can't recognize a valid ID. Great.
