For those who are in shape and have an easy time running on a treadmill and doing stress tests, this won't cause you any worry.

However, if you're out of shape and have trouble running short distances on a treadmill, this basically says you're screwed.

A new treadmill test at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota claims to predict how long you will live, based on the different figures rendered through the test, ABC News reported.

Doctors studied 58,000 subjects ranging from 18- to 96-year-olds to bolster the research.

The bottom line: If you're out of shape and would have trouble running a short distance on a treadmill, you better get in shape. Fast.
