It Is Tough Trying to Make Ends Meet in Michigan For Working Families

6 things are crippling working families in the state of Michigan. Even if you have a good job that pays well, it is still tough to afford to live in the Mitten state.

Health insurance is a burden on Michiganders, including prescription costs. Michigan is the second most expensive state in the country for daycare costs. Michigan has the most expensive auto insurance rates in the U.S. Property taxes are killing Michigan homeowners. Let's not forget the high cost of gasoline which directly affects the cost of our groceries and other goods.

What if one of those items listed above were to go away?

Could Michigan Property Taxes Be Going Away?

One this Michigan should do is put when we pay our taxes 6 months a part. Having to pay one chunk in September a few months before the holidays then in February 6 weeks after the holidays is "B.S." Paying property taxes should be 6 months apart like in most other states, but what if they were to altogether go away? I'm in!

According to FOX17, a Michigan woman by the name of Karla Wagner put together a proposal called AxMITax, and if she can get this on the ballot in November we can all vote these property taxes away.

We all know if we don't pay our property taxes in Michigan the state will foreclose on your home. The state gives you no choice on this matter, you either pay it or lose your home. Seems pretty shady to me.

I am not saying do away with all taxes because we need police, fire departments, and road crews but we have sales tax to cover the necessities. Don't even get me started on school taxes because the lottery was supposed to help with that and we see his higher jackpots, and more expensive tickets, while schools lose program after program and even teachers have to spend their own money on supplies for the kids.

Voting is more than just a president, senator, representative, governor, mayor, or any other public official, it is also proposals that can help us or screw us over. I am not telling you how to vote, but just to remind you to vote on these proposals one way or another, and the same for your public officials. You can vote these people and proposals in or out, but you can't complain if you don't do either. Use the power you have and vote.
