Bad news for fans of Applebee's (and IHOP). The parent company for both restaurants announced Thursday that they will be closing more than 100 Applebee's locations and 20-25 IHOP locations in the coming months.

According to a release from DineEquity, Applebee's will likely close 105 to 135 restaurants this year. Those closures will be based things like profitability, operational results and quality standards.

Potential locations closing have not been revealed by the company. There are currently ten Applebee's restaurants operating in West Michigan, including locations in Greenville, Hastings, Greater Grand Rapids, and Holland. The company also operates five IHOP locations in the area.
