Your Car Need a New Muffler Or is That An Alligator?
Usually, when something is hanging from your car it's your muffler or someone trying to steal your catalytic converter but was an alligator hanging under a Michiganders car?
Need a Muffler?
With new vehicles being so expensive many Michiganders are keeping vehicles longer and repairing them rather than making a new purchase.
I drive two older vehicles that I have to wrench on all the time so I get it. I drive up and down U.S.131 each day so I see all kinds of vehicles in a variety of shapes and ages people are finding creative ways to keep them going.
We hear constantly in West Michigan about thieves getting under vehicles to steal their catalytic converters which is a real pain for the vehicle owner to replace.
Something else found underneath Michigan vehicles usually around the middle of October through the first week or two of December is deer. That time frame is their breeding season so many deer are hit by vehicles during this time. An animal of another kind had been found under a Michigan vehicle that may surprise you.

No, it wasn't a squirrel or a cat who climbed up under the car for warmth or to hide but something that is not native to Michigan, well except at the Zoo.
According to WXYZ, an alligator was under a woman's car in Sterling Heights which is a suburb of Detroit. The alligator was only 4 feet long but police were called who then contacted a person from The Reptarium Zoo in Utica to wrangle the gator to safety.
The owner of the alligator has not come forward since they are illegal to own in the city of Sterling Heights and could come with a $500 fine. See the video of the gator capture below.
The gator is in excellent condition in the custody and care of The Reptarium Zoo.
