Google Earth captures unique photos of places in Michigan, so what is the green light spotted in a body of water near Northland Dr. and W River Dr?

There have been a lot of crazy things that have popped up on Google Earth regarding Michigan. A map of the United States minus Alaska and Hawaii can be seen from a satellite in Jenison, a little Michigan with the Great Lakes in Lewiston.

Someone recently shared a screenshot on Facebook from Google Earth of a body of water near Northland Dr and W River Dr. in Grand Rapids. No one seems to know what the light is but there has been a lot of speculation on social media about the mysterious green light.

What is This Light From?

If you ask me the light is either some guy's crappie fishing at night using a light to attract the fish, or maybe it's an alien craft about to emerge from the water.

I am probably wrong with both guesses, but let's see what social media says about the green light.

Early in the Facebook thread, Dick Imhoff points out the light is caused by sand in shallow water which seems plausible. Nuclear toxins came up a couple of times but I love the meme of Giorgio A. Tsoulkalos of the History Channels Ancient Aliens because if he saw the photo, that is what he would have said.

At least Jeffrey Beaudin Sr. agreed with me that it is fishermen. It looks like a few are leaning toward alien activity.

It's definitely not the whale sperm Mike Morgan pointed out. Julie Ward made me laugh with the comment, "It's from everyone peeing in the lake." Adrian Jankowski said, "It's lime and calcium deposits. Right in that spot is a concrete sewer pipe." That one seems possible also.

More seem to suggest it is just a sandbar or sand in the shallow part of a man-made lake but for now, it is still a mystery.
