One of the things I love about Michigan is that it is covered with a variety of trees. I lived in Indiana for 18 years, and while I was there, I missed the trees of Michigan. It's mostly corn and soybean fields in Indiana with small patches of trees.

Fall is my favorite time for Michigan trees. When the leaves' colors are changing, the beauty ranges from the southern border of Michigan's Lower Peninsula to the Upper Peninsula.
Trees play a big part in Michigan's wildlife, offering food and shelter. Trees also improve the quality of our air, which is helpful because factories and automobiles lower the quality.

Trees Are Being Planted in Michigan to Improve Air Quality
One of the best things humans can do for Mother Earth is to plant a tree. New trees are crucial for a healthy planet, improving air quality, and providing the essential resource of oxygen.
According to WXYZ, Michiganders are planting new trees in vacant lots in Detroit to improve the city's air quality. The arborists who are planting the trees are not planting trees similar to what Michigan already has.
The trees being planted in Detroit's vacant lots are giant sequoias. Sequoias are native to California but will grow in Michigan, but not get as big. They can live for thousands of years and do a lot to improve air quality and the look of Detroit.
Dozens of sequoia have been donated and planted around Detroit. That was a heck of a way to celebrate Earth Day in the Motor City.
