I am a huge gamer. I love old school and new school video games! Gaming is the blood that runs through my veins. Recently, I have also taken an interest in Table Top Gaming too. Games like Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering, and many others. (Gimme a break, I am just finding out about these). So of course, I checked out the first annual West Michigan Gaming Convention, and it did not disappoint.

The West Michigan Gaming Convention took place at the 28th Street Showplace on April 6 and 7th. When I walked in, there were hundreds of gamers rockin' out some Magic: The Gathering. I felt like I was walking among my people, my fellow gamers.

There were a great amount of vendors there selling huge amounts of product, anything from video games, disc golf, screen printed t-shirts, and especially Table Top games. This was a paradise for Table Top Gaming. The Gaming Warehouse (Grandville, Holland) had a vast selection of video games, Magic Cards, and TONS of other Table Top games, Big Kids Games (Plainfield) brought in fields (I don't know what you call them...) to jam out a Warhammer game, and I even got a West Michigan Gaming Convention T-shirt with "METALHEAD NED" screen printed on the back from Rose's Embroidery...trust me, it's awesome. They even had a web-stream LIVE of Magic: The Gathering Duels...which was crazy! I thought that kinda thing was reserved for Poker! Magic: The Gathering...a world I have been missing out on.

If you are a Disc Golf player, they had a great demo where you could learn more about Disc Golf and how to properly throw and even a dude with some amazing trick shots! I never really played Disc Golf, but I discovered it is defiantly something I could get into.

Much work and planning went into this event from Alpha Players, Goldmine Comics, and many more individuals I could name. It was a very quality event, and from the sounds of it, they will be doing another event next year! Hopefully by that point, I will have a better grasp on how to play Magic: The Gathering.
