UPDATE: We're happy to report that the Fankhausers have been found.
Police in Kent County are on the lookout for a missing couple who both have severe dementia. Robert and Lucille Fankhauser left their home in Spencer Township, Mich. sometime late Sunday night.
The couple have been spotted a couple of times since. Once, they used a debit card at the Greenville Meijer around 9 p.m. Sunday, then they were seen by a gas station clerk elsewhere in northern Kent County around 10:50 p.m.
Robert Fankhauser is 87-years-old and is hard of hearing while his wife, Lucille, is 83-years-old. In the past when the couple has disappeared, they have driven as far as Ludington.
They are believed to be driving a tan 2005 Buick LaCrosse with a handicap Michigan license plate 3862F9. Their dog, a German Shepard, is also with them.
