In Michigan laws specify the minimum age for entering and making purchases in a vape shop. Vape shops are also regulated on what products they are licensed to sell, and marijuana is not permitted under these guidelines.

In Michigan you must be at least 21 years old to purchase vapes, tobacco, or alternative nicotine products in a vape shop. This requirement applies to all retail sales of vapor products and is enforced under both the state’s amended Youth Tobacco Act and federal "Tobacco 21" regulations.

Minors Targeted: Michigan Vape Shop Sells Marijuana

According to WXYZ TV, police raided a Ypsilanti vape shop following multiple complaints that minors were buying illegal marijuana disguised as candy. Authorities reported that the store did not have a valid license to sell these products.

Police sealed the doors of Yspi Smoke and Mart after confiscating packaged marijuana disguised as candy, intended to hide its true contents from parents. A resident in the area of the vape shop said, "From what I saw coming in and out of here, it was nothing but kids. A lot of little kids."

Police will continue their ongoing investigation, and prosecutors are currently reviewing the evidence gathered so far to decide what charges will apply.
