Two New Non-Stop Flights Out of Grand Rapids Coming This Summer

Allegiant Air has announced two new non-stop flights out of Grand Rapids to start in summer 2021.

According to a press release from Allegiant, the new routes to/from Grand Rapids, Michigan via Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) include:

• Portland International Airport (PDX) – beginning June 4, 2021 with fares starting at $79.
• Special limited routes to Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) for Sturgis Motorcycle Rally – beginning Aug. 4, 2021 with fares starting at $99.

According to Wood TV 8, the new flights will take off twice weekly.

The new routes in and out of Grand Rapids were part of a larger announcement of 34 new non-stop routes nationwide.

Drew Wells, Allegiant's senior vice president of revenue, said in a release,

"As summer approaches, we expect a lot of pent-up demand for travel, especially for places where people can hike, fish, camp or visit the beach. With this expansion, we've added even more service to destinations known for their outdoor appeal. Now, with Allegiant's low-cost, nonstop service, travelers will have easy, affordable access to the cities they want to visit."

In August GRR became the first airport in the U.S. to test a new autonomous robot that disinfects COVID-19 using ultraviolet technology.

In summer 2020 GRR launched their "Fly Safe. Fly Ford" campaign which details the airports health and safety protocols like continuous disinfecting and sanitizing high-traffic areas, hand sanitizer stations throughout the terminal, and plexiglass shields at all guest and employee interaction points.
