Here’s How You Can Get Your Name in GRR Airport’s New Terminal
Grand Rapids is super spoiled to have an international airport in our backyard. Being wedged between Chicago and Detroit and having a guaranteed connecting flight or a direct flight to Florida to visit my grandparents is a benefit that I know I take for granted.

Last year, the airport served a record 4 million passengers and was named among the top 10 best small airports in the country by USA Today. With all this success, it has been in the midst of a multi-million dollar expansion, and now you can be a part of it.
Terminal Enhancement Project
In 2024, the Airport began the $135 million Terminal Enhancement Project on the west end of the terminal (where you enter the drop-off) to add "new public spaces, additional ticketing areas, and a consolidated baggage inspection system for checked luggage."

This project is coming off the heels of the Concourse A expansion project, which saw the number of gates increase from 8 to 14 and saw more retail shops and concessions like Bell's Brewery installed.
Become Part Of The Building
As a fun part of the construction, the Airport has set up a steel beam that will eventually be installed in the new terminal, and people from the community can sign the beam and become a permanent part of GRR.
It will be in the Amway Grand Hall from February 26th to March 21st. If you want to get a good spot for your name, go sooner rather than later.
