Sunday night, the Red Hot Chili Peppers returned to Grand Rapids, and they brought and amazing experience with them! Not only did we get the hits, but we also got a cool show, with moving lights extending out over the crowd, and moving video screens behind the band.
Monday afternoon, Letters From the Fire stopped by GRD to talk with Janna, and play a couple songs acoustic to get everyone ready for the night's Seether concert at 20 Monroe Live. Really good band, and things have changed within their ranks since the last time they came through Grand Rapids.
Saturday night's crowd might have seemed a little weird if you don't know anything about Primus, since they were chanting "Primus Sucks" throughout the night. Or, as Les described in a story about Stewart Copeland, maybe they were chanting "Primus Up".
Last night, Soundgarden rocked a sold out crowd at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. No one could know that show would be Chris Cornell's last ever performance. He died late last night, details still unknown.
Today, we got a special visit from Beware of Darkness, before their show with Bleeker at The Stache. Kyle played a few songs acoustic, and talked with Janna about the band, touring, and shared some deep thoughts on life, music, and everything.
Friday night, Radkey rocked the Stache with a fun show. For three young guys, one of whom had the sharpie "M" for minor on his hand, they have quite a bit of experience playing live. And they brought it to Grand Rapids.
