Prefer Starbucks for your coffee fix? Downtown Grand Rapids will soon have one fewer spot to grab your morning cup.

Starbucks Pick-Up Only Stores Face Uncertain Future
In August 2025, Starbucks announced it’s phasing out its pick-up only stores in 2026. These locations require customers to order ahead on the app for a grab-and-go experience. Downtown, there’s currently one such store at Ionia and Oakes. It’s unclear if it will close or switch to a traditional store model.

Amway Grand Plaza Starbucks Closing Details
What we do know is that the Starbucks inside the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel is definitely closing.
According to Wood TV 8, the store will shut its doors Nov. 30 and be replaced by Foxtail Coffee, part of the Baton Collection group owned by Cheri DeVos.

After renovations, Foxtail is expected to open at the hotel in spring 2026.

Foxtail Coffee will mark its seventh location in West Michigan, with recent openings in Byron Center and Eastown.
