Scam Callers Impersonating West Michigan Police Officers
The Norton Shores Police Department is warning of a scam in which the caller impersonates a police office.
Fox 17 reports that the caller, who is said to have an Indian accent, claims to have a warrant for your arrest. They are using software to make it appear the call is coming from Norton Shores Police.
Norton PD posted a warning about the scam to Facebook.
They say they do not inform anyone by phone of a warrant for their arrest. They advise anyone who receives a call to hang up immediately and contact the Police Department to confirm authenticity.
