Say Goodbye to a Classic Ride at Cedar Point

Rides come and go at Cedar Point but one ride that has been around 31 years will go away at the end of the summer.

I have been going to Cedar Point my whole life. I've seen the park grow into America's Roller Coast which now has 18 roller coasters.

I remember when the Blue Streak was the "Big" roller coaster at Cedar Point. Now when I go the park has so many coasters I don't even ride the Blue Streak anymore. This coaster is still a classic ride at the park.

I remember when the Corkscrew roller coaster came out and offered riders the chance to go upside down three times. Waiting in line for this one when I was a kid was intense. God Bless my Mom for toughing it out for me. The Corkscrew is still a classic.

I remember when the Mine Ride was the only coaster I was tall enough to get on. The Mine Ride is still rougher than ever but a classic and usually most kids first roller coaster.

Cedar Point has many newer classic coasters like the Millennium, Raptor, Steel Vengence, Valravon, and more but the park is now saying goodbye to a ride that has been running for 31 years.

Say Goodbye to a Classic Ride at Cedar Point

Cedar Point has announced that at the end of the summer, the one ride guaranteed to cool you off on a hot summer day will end its 31-year run.

In the back of Cedar Point in Frontier Town is a classic water ride called Snake River Falls. This water ride replaced the old log ride from back in the day. I remember riding the log ride and would rarely get wet but that wasn't the case on Snake River Falls. I would usually plan my Snake River Falls ride around the hottest part of the day and follow it up with a meal and a break to drive off before getting back on the coasters.

Cedar Point says Snake River Falls will soak its final riders on Labor Day, September 2, 2024.  The park is expanding, but officials are staying tight-lipped on what will go in the ride's place.
