
Ice Skating at Rosa Parks Circle Ends This Week
There are signs of spring slowly creeping into West Michigan, with longer days, a little extra sunshine, and temperatures inching upward. But that seasonal shift also means one beloved winter tradition in downtown Grand Rapids is coming to an end.

The City of Grand Rapids announced this week that it’s the final stretch for ice skating at Rosa Parks Circle.

The rink will remain open for regular skate sessions through Friday, February 27, weather permitting. No reservations are available for this final week, but walk-ups are welcome during normal hours. Cost is $4 for those 17 and under, $6 for those over 18.

Admission includes skate rental, with sizes ranging from toddler 8 through men’s 15. Both cash and cards are accepted.
For months, the rink has served as a winter gathering spot for families, date nights, friends, and anyone looking to embrace the season. From first-time skaters wobbling along the rails to seasoned pros confidently carving across the ice, it has been another year of memories at the heart of the city.

While it is always a little bittersweet to say goodbye to skating season, there is plenty to look forward to! Warmer weather brings festivals, outdoor dining, live music, and the return of spring energy downtown.
