A highly-rated Mexican restaurant whose birria dishes get rave reviews has a new location in Grand Rapids.

Owned by Oswaldo and Evangelina Cordova, El Globo Restaurant has been serving up delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine in Grand Rapids for more than twenty years. El Globo is located at 2019 Division Avenue South. With a 4.6 star rating on Yelp, reviewers praise the eatery's excellent food and service. In particular, the birria gets mentioned quite a bit.

At the end of January, the Cordovas opened a new El Globo Restaurant at 2844 East Beltline Avenue NE. The location was once home to Brandywine Restaurant.

The new restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For the first meal of the day you'll find multiple egg dishes, pancake tacos, and breakfast tortas. Later in the day, dine on appetizers like guacamole and chips, taco fries, and nachos supreme.

As far as that famous birria, get pan fried goat birria tacos on birria consume. Other taco options include asada (steak), barbacoa (cow cheek), (carnitas) fried pork, carne molida (ground beef), pollo (shredded chicken), lengua (cow tongue), and more.

The menu also offers tortas, burritos, quesadillas, gorditas, enchiladas, flautas, and more.

El Globo on the East Beltline is open Tuesday through Saturday 10a.m. to 8p.m., Sunday 10a.m. to 6p.m., closed on Sundays.
